Recently, I had the privilege of designing florals for an Editorial at this exquisite venue, drawing inspiration from its natural beauty and old-world charm.

A Warm, Romantic Color Palette

The stone walls of Monserate Winery served as the muse for my floral design. Their earthy, sunlit hues exuded warmth and character, inspiring me to craft a palette of soft blush, warm honey yellow tones, and peach, with pops of deep burgundy to create depth. These colors not only complemented the venue’s aesthetic but also added a layer of romantic sophistication. Delicate accents of dusty rose and creamy whites balanced the vibrancy, creating an inviting and harmonious look. To bring this vision to life, I used a mix of locally grown garden roses, phlox, zinnias, dahlias, and wispy tomato vines, capturing the essence of a Tuscan countryside in full bloom. The bouquet’s loose, organic shape evoked an effortless, romantic charm. Sourcing local flowers not only ensured the freshest blooms but also supported the community of talented growers in the San Diego area.

An Intimate Courtyard Ceremony

While Monserate Winery offers a designated ceremony space on the lawn, we opted for the courtyard instead. The courtyard’s enclosed layout, with its stone tiled walls and charming architectural details, felt intimate and perfectly aligned with our Tuscan theme. It provided a cozy, romantic atmosphere, giving the feeling of being transported to a secluded Italian villa. For the ceremony install, I was inspired to frame the large existing gates and adorned the space with lush ground arrangements featuring tall branches growing up, accented by blooms in our warm palette with touches of deep burgundy. This whimsical setup not only framed the couple beautifully but also enhanced the courtyard’s natural allure.
