Sarah and Paul's wedding last December at La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, CA was truly luxurious. We went all out for their ceremony arch and created a foam free, completely floral deconstructed arch. The arch was filled with roses, hydrangeas, snapdragons, delphinium and more, all in light pastel shades of lavender, blush, light blue and white. At first I thought pastels were an interesting choice for a winter wedding, but after hearing from their Mothers why they chose the color palette it just made it even more special.
While I was finishing the setup, Sarah's and Paul's Mothers came to admire the flowers. They were dressed in traditional Korean dresses and explained to me the tradition. Usually the Bride's Mother wears pink or lavender and the Groom's Mother wears light blue. Thus, they chose the flowers to match their Mother's dresses.
I absolutely love when our couples find ways to infuse family traditions and customs or ways to honor their family and loved ones in to their wedding day. Especially when we get to incorporate it in their wedding flowers.
Sarah's bouquet was classic garden style bouquet with blush and white garden roses, spray roses, and ranunculus paired with sage eucalyptus and dusty miller greenery.
And with an arch this stunning, it of course has to be repurposed. So we moved it to behind the cake table to create another wow moment!
"Kelly is a great florist and was incredibly accomodating for our wedding! All of our centerpieces and arches were absolutely beautiful. The florals really tied our entire wedding venue together." - Paul, Groom
"We had to reach out to her pretty close to our wedding date, but she was still so responsive and professional! We had flower stands, centerpieces, bouquet, boutonnieres and a few extra pieces on the ground near the guest seating area at the ceremony. All flowers were so lush and the color arrangements were so beautiful! Trust her to bring and arrange the best set of florals for your big day and you will not be disappointed." -Sarah, Bride
Sarah and Paul are just the sweetest couple. It was such an honor to get to flower for them. They loved their flowers so much, they took all the arrangements home and dried/preserved the flowers to make soaps and perfumes. What a fun way to remember your wedding day!

I loved the arch install and aisle runners 😍 Did you use tubes to keep the hydrangeas hydrated?
