Julianna + Logan's Sunset Cliffs, San Diego Wedding

With 2023 right around the corner I'm seeing a lot of requests for these gorgeous grounded arch designs. They will forever make me think of Julianna +.Logan's beautiful ceremony flowers on the bluffs at Sunset Cliffs here in San Diego, CA.

Sunset Cliffs is one of the main reasons I chose to move to Ocean Beach when I moved here 8 years ago. This breath taking stretch of undeveloped oceanfront land has some of the best views I've ever seen in Southern California. So when Julianna reached out and said they were going to get married here I jumped at the chance to work with them.

Pulling from the surroundings and existing nature we chose a blue, white, and neutral grass color palette. We went with low ground arrangements to form their "arch" to designate an intentional space for them to say their vows without it blocking the gorgeous ocean views. It created the perfect backdrop for their ceremony, I mean you can't compete with Mother Nature's beauty! but hopefully I added a little to it.

Such a dream! ✨ Like could there a be a more prefect backdrop for your wedding vows?

The cliffs will forever hold these special memories for them, and the best part is they can come back to celebrate or visit any time they want!

Wish you two all the best!

Peace, Love, and Flowers

If you're getting married in 2023 and considering a similar design of what I call a grounded arch or ceremony nest let me tell you some of the benefits:

  1. They do not block any existing scenery or views.

  2. They create such an intimate and intentional space, if your venue you lacking it, for you to say your vows.

  3. They photograph beautifully as you and your partner and encircled by a meadow of flowers, like seen above captured by Bryan Miller.

  4. The arrangements are easy to repurpose from ceremony to reception and look great in front of a sweetheart table, cake table, dance floor, base of the bar, etc. The design can also be broken up and placed in different locations.

  5. I build them with a water source so the flowers hold up well in direct sunlight and on warmer days for those Summer/Fall weddings.
